Lately, with everything happening in the world, I’ve noticed how the stress has been making it’s way, seeping into how I feel about myself—especially as someone who has recovered from an eating disorder. The weight of constant (mostly bad) news, uncertainty, and collective anxiety we’re all feeling can be overwhelming, and without even realizing it, that heaviness can start to creep up on how we see ourselves.
It’s easy to slip into those old thought patterns and have old wounds resurface when stress starts to feel all-consuming. But one of the most powerful ways I’ve found to disrupt that cycle is through mindfulness and affirmations.
Affirmations aren’t just fluffy feel good words— they’re actually backed by science. Studies show that repeating positive affirmations activates the brain’s reward system, reducing stress and reinforcing self-worth.
When we intentionally speak kind words to ourselves, we create new neural pathways that help us move away from self-criticism and toward self-trust. Pairing affirmations with mindful breathing helpss regulate the nervous system, calms down the body and brings us back to the present moment.
That’s why I wanted to release this meditation—to offer a space where you can reconnect with yourself, soften the tension you might be holding, and remind yourself that you are enough, exactly as you are.
If you’re feeling the weight of the world right now, I invite you to settle in, and let these words land in your heart. Andddd remember you can always come back to this practice whenever you need a moment of peace. 💛
